OK, I've been working on a sweater... I got inspired by Gedifra... Well, for once, I decided to follow a written pattern, ha-ha!!! It didn't work, of course. First, my yarn was to thin, second, the pattern is in German, so I screwed up the stitch pattern too :-) The result? A different fabric, different silouette and completely different look :-)

Here is a picture from Gedifra to show you.

Well, my project is coming along nicely. Working on the second sleeve at this point and hoping to finish it tomorrow.

This is a project for my Julia. Got an idea from GAP.

Very happy to repport that it is done!

I used Bernat Lana yarn. It is 100% merino.

Turned out really warm and cozy.

Julia didn't feel like taking pics today.

Sporty Convertible Hat pattern

I've been working on the new pattern. This time is a sporty hat for anyone in your family. I knitted one for my husband, who was bugging me for a new hat since last year!!! Picture will be coming soon, as well as the pattern.
I've been fiddling with Noro Silk Garden Lite too :-) I will be posting more detail and pictures of my progress tomorrow.

Hats, hats and something else...

Well, it is that time of the year. I am knitting hats!!! Decided to use some left over yarns to make useful things. In process of doing so, I was able to write a little patttern for Quick 'n Easy neck warmer.

It is available on Ravelry as free download. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments about this pattern.

It is an easy piece to knit and wear. If you are looking for a fast project this will give you a best knitting time and no frustration at all!!! Great project for beginners and experienced knitters who want to take their mind off more complicated pieces. Makes a great gift for anyone on your list.

Slowly, but surely it is moving along. I think it is going to be a beautiful piece, if I don't screw it up!!! So far, 7 panels of the skirt out of 12 are done.

So, OK, I am done with my Foamy Sea... Love it. Unfortunately, pictures don't do this top any justice. I guess my camera is giving up on me... The only good pictures it ever takes are the ones I take outside.Hopefully, I will have time to take them again.

So, today I worked on this project some more. Well, I am happy to report that it is almost done. All I have to do is sew together ribbings on back and front pieces!!! Can't wait to show it off!!! I think it is really cute!

There is another project I've been wanting to do... it is Sue Wong dress. I think it is airy and chic, great summer piece that I absolutely MUST have. Just look at it!!!

I am going to use rayon/linen blend yarn... Here is a swatch, what do you think?

Foamy Sea

Did you know that I absolutely LOVE water? I love ocean, but sea is my passion. I could spend hours watching waves. It calmes me down and gives me such positive energy that carries me through rough times. I had this print yarn in my stash and it reminded me of sea waves so much, that I decided to knit a top with it.

This picture is a teaser, the project is not finished yet, so stay tuned :-)

Mani de Fata story

Not too long ago I got hooked up on Mani de Fata designs. I usually like to come up with my own patterns or change one that's given so much, that it lloks like a completely different piece. But, all was changed when I saw Maglia Amaranto.

I thought it was beautiful, but still needed some improvisations. I like more open tops for summer, so I changed it to a low cut scoop neck and set-in sleeves. I aso played around with the top of the pattern, since I thought that those rectangles are getting lost next to beautiful lace. I wanted it to be fairly light so I choose fingering weight mercerized cotton 5/2 made by Silk City Fibers. They have a factory located in Paterson, NJ and it is open for shopping convinience from time to time. Please check their web site for dates and sales. I have to say, that quality of their yarns is excellent and I support american made products. You are able to sign up for their mailing list on their web site.

Assol vest and Diagonally Top

Here are two more knits that I designed last month. Assol is a wonderful vest, that can be worn as top in the summer. I used Rowan Denim. It shows stitch detail and contours body really well. Please note that your project will shrink about 5 cm in lenghth. Pattern will be available in the Fall as well.

Here is a new summer piece. I called it Diagonally, not just for it's stitich pattern, but also because of the Harry Potter movie... Remember how he tried to use flo network and said Diagonally instead of Diagonal Alley?

Yarn is something I got on Ebay. 50/50 cotton acrylic blend. Very soft and comfy!

This one is made on my Brother kh-970 knitting machine.

Starting from scratch

It's been a while since I really maintained my blog. So, I've deleted older posts and starting over. Just so you know, I am working on two patterns that will be available for sale on Ravelry this Fall.

First, it is Leafy... I got my inspiration for this little jacket from long walks in the park. I absolutely love outdoors, and this is my tribute to nature. Yarn used is Queensland Collection Uruguay Chunky, a gorgeous blend of wool, silk and alpaca. The sample was made for my daughter, chest size 32".

I love the embossed leaves and cables on this piece. I hope you will like this design as well.
